By combining OpenAI and TiDB, we utilize AI to innovate the database and aid in data exploration, <strong>providing real-time and actionable insights for instant business decisions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this post, we&#8217;ll show you how to get started with the AI-powered Chat2Query and explore insights through sample datasets and your own datasets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"More_than_just_another_AI-powered_SQL_generator\"><\/span>More than just another AI-powered SQL generator<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, there are several AI-powered SQL generators available that can help users generate SQL queries without needing to have extensive knowledge of the SQL language. However, these AI tools are best suited for generating simple queries. You can take the following steps to get started:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Sign in to your Serverless Tier cluster.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tidbcloud.com\/free-trial?utm_source=blog-chat2query&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=chat2query_202301\">Sign up<\/a> for a TiDB Cloud account using your email, Google account, or GitHub account. Your Serverless Tier cluster will be created automatically in less than 20 seconds, and you will be directed to the Chat2Query interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Prepare your datasets. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can either use the sample datasets to quickly explore Chat2Query or explore insights on your own datasets.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-block wp-block-ub-tabbed-content wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-holder wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-horizontal-holder-mobile wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-horizontal-holder-tablet\" id=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-holder horizontal-tab-width-mobile horizontal-tab-width-tablet\">\n\t\t\t\t<div role=\"tablist\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tabs-title wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tabs-title-mobile-horizontal-tab wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tabs-title-tablet-horizontal-tab\"><div role=\"tab\" id=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-tab-0\" aria-controls=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-panel-0\" aria-selected=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-title-wrap\" style=\"\" tabindex=\"-1\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-title\"><strong>Using the sample datasets<\/strong><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div role=\"tab\" id=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-tab-1\" aria-controls=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-panel-1\" aria-selected=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-title-wrap active\" style=\"\" tabindex=\"-1\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-title\"><strong>Using your datasets<\/strong> <\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tabs-content\" style=\"\"><div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-content-wrap ub-hide\"\n        id=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-panel-0\" aria-labelledby=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-tab-0\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\n<p>By default, you will query against the <code>sample_data<\/code> table with four preset datasets &#8211; <code>github_events<\/code>, <code>global_fortune_500<\/code>, <code>imdb_movie_ratings<\/code>, \uadf8\ub9ac\uace0 <code>sold_car_orders<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<\/div><div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-content-wrap active\"\n        id=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-panel-1\" aria-labelledby=\"ub-tabbed-content-0a116719-baf5-4533-ba70-4c30b1e81e78-tab-1\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For starters, get your target datasets ready. If you don&#8217;t have any, you can get one from free dataset hosting websites such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaggle.com\/datasets\">Kaggle<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under the <strong>Schemas<\/strong> tab, click <code>...<\/code> to the right of the target database, and click <strong>Import Data<\/strong> to start importing your dataset either in local CSV format or from Amazon S3. In our case, we use <code>eth-usdt<\/code>, the Ethereum\/Tether crypto price dataset in CSV.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the prompts to configure the import source and target and start importing. The time it takes varies depending on the size of the data. When the import is done, the import detail window is displayed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Explore insights with Chat2Query.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Generate the query. In the Chat2Query editor, type in &#8220;&#8211; your question&#8221; and click <strong>Enter <\/strong>to let AI generates the query in SQL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the query. Press the <strong>Tab <\/strong>key to accept the SQL or edit it as necessary before accepting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run your query. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, click the play button. The query results are displayed at the bottom of the page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You will see the query logs and results immediately at the bottom of the page. For sample output, see <strong>Exploring <\/strong><strong>sample uses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Built_with_security_and_privacy\"><\/span><strong>Built with security and privacy<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The privacy and security of user data is our top priority. We understand that our users trust us to protect their information and we take that responsibility seriously. As a query service on TiDB Cloud, Chat2Query only needs to access your database schema to generate SQL, and not your actual data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limitations\"><\/span><strong>Limitations<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a beta project, Chat2Query is still in development with a lot of room for improvement. Therefore, there are two limitations to keep in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The AI-generated SQL is not always 100% correct and may still need further tweaking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chat2Query has limited support for SQL statements. DDL statements such as <code>CREATE TABLE<\/code> \uadf8\ub9ac\uace0 <code>DROP TABLE<\/code> are not supported yet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_started_withChat2Querytoday\"><\/span><strong>Get <\/strong><strong>started with<\/strong><strong>Chat2Query<\/strong><strong>today<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can obtain early access <a href=\"http:\/\/tidbcloud.com\">\uc5ec\uae30<\/a>.
