Ed Huang
Ed Huang is the Co-Founder and CTO of PingCAP, and the principal architect behind TiDB and TiKV. Inspired by Google's Spanner and F1 papers, Ed designed TiDB from the ground up to support HTAP workloads — handling both transactional and analytical queries in a single distributed database. He previously worked at Microsoft Research Asia, NetEase, and Wandou Labs, where he created Codis, a widely-adopted open-source Redis cluster solution. Ed holds a degree in Software Engineering from Northeastern University (China) and is an active speaker at infrastructure conferences including KubeCon, Percona Live, and AWS re:Invent. He is a passionate open-source contributor with active projects on GitHub.
